Spina of Campello Sul Clitunno: the village and the territory

Spina is a small village in the green heart of Umbria. It is divided into two different centres: the first one, New Spina, is situated in the district of Campello sul Clitunno, 800 mt on the sea level, and it is famous for the ancient Church of St. Marco and St. Lorenzo. The second one, Old Spina, is known because of the ancient castle built between the XII and the XIII century.

The environment of this territory is extremely rich. In fact, the area is characterisedby woods of beech trees, live oaks and pines. Moreover, wild cats, wolves, wild cats, porcupines, golden eagles, wild boar, peregrine falcons and sparrowhawks populate the hills surrounding the village.
